ABOUT ME....
I was drawn to and entranced by motorcycling from a very young age. The speed, the machinery, the precariousness, the outsider lifestyle. After riding go-karts and dirt bikes as a kid I got onto my first true motorcycle at the age of 24 and never looked back. Something about the erotic mortality of flying through space on a vibrating machine speaks deeply to the radical, queer philosopher in me. It's emotional, it's intense, it's thrilling, it wholly plunges you into the elements and landscape. It demands the devotion of your senses, the focus of your mind, and the careful application of reflex and intuition. There's camaraderie, endless adventure, and spectacular beauty around every turn. What's not to love? It's also political for me, too - It's important to me to ride in a queer and female centered club and to work to increase visibility and access for minorities who have been historically denied access to and subjugated by motorcycle culture at large. We are here to subvert, reclaim, and re-appropriate, but to also educate, foster community, and build bridges.
Originally born and raised in New York, I have called Oregon home for over 10 years now. I like to rip my Japanese Dualsport (Custom 2016 Suzuki DR650) around the winding Oregon roads and then cut off onto a gravel or logging backroad in search of a remote, secluded waterfall or riverbank. I went to Northeastern University for literature and philosophy, and then studied and taught literature, film, and writing at the University of Oregon before taking a job in advertising in Portland. I love to read, write, DJ, garden, camp, travel, go to drag shows & concerts, and work-on/drive my vintage 77 Datsun Pickup & 96 Benz coupe. The light of my life is my miniature poodle, Briar.
